Updates: Aircraft Maintenance and New Airstrip

Although we haven't flown as much this month, we've kept busy. Unfortunately several of our planes are down for repairs and annual maintenance. However, these opportunities are used to train us to learn basic airplane mechanics. Our Cessna 172 had a leak in the gas tank, so we got to open up the wing, extract the gas tank, and currently, it is being welded back together. Once this is repaired, we will perform the annual on the airplane. Annual is a set of yearly maintenance done on an aircraft, along with a detailed inspection to make sure all systems are working smoothly. Our Taylorcraft, (the little red tailwheel airplane) is also down for annual. It has been quite informative and fun to take off the inspection panels and help the flight instructor check the airplane. This routine maintenance will be completed soon and we will back up in the air!

For several years we have been praying about extending our runway. Currently, our runway is at 1300 feet, which is not exactly ideal for training. However, with lots of prayers, fundraising, and faith, we have been able to purchase the adjacent 50 acres, which will extend our runway to over 2500 feet! In the years to come, we will build a 70 x 150-foot hangar that will allow us to have a dedicated place for aircraft storage and maintenance. We also want to add a small refueling station so we can fuel the planes from the runway rather than driving 15 minutes to the gas station with a truck and 5-gallon gas cans. This answer to prayer is so exciting and I know that God will continue to bless this program.

This month in our mission track Bible study, we have been discussing the cost of obedience. God is always at work around us and invites us to join His work. When we do this, we often are met with a crisis of belief. A crisis of belief is a situation in which we must alter our actions, motives, or beliefs to go join God in His work. This obedience can often be costly though. Realizing and accepting this is an important part of working with God. No matter what God calls us to do, no matter how costly the obedience, the best place to be is in the center of God's will.

Thank you for your support and prayers. God is blessing this ministry and we have achieved a little over 2/3 of our monthly funding goal. I feel so humbled and blessed to have each and every one of you standing with me as we seek to reach the unreached for Christ in this generation. If any of you live in the Salem, Oregon area, I will be presenting at Stayton Seventh-Day Adventist Church on March 25 at around 11 o'clock. Please feel free to share prayer requests as our mission team would be delighted to support you with our prayers.

In Service Together,

Micah
