A view from the flight deck this month!

I’d like to thank you for your support this year. As I close out this school year and prepare for this summer, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and share my future plans. This year has been such an adventure and I’ve been delighted that you chose to join with me in God’s work. We’ve worked through obstacles and seen God turn those difficulties into miracles. He helped us fix our airplane fuel tank for around $500 when it should have cost over $5000! Our airstrip has extended from 1,300 to 1,800 feet, and 5 student missionaries have gone out and shared God’s love in the Philipines, Peru, and Alaska. Thank you for being a part of these miracles!! It is beautiful and exciting to see the ways that God used US to help do this work for Him.

Me and my friend Lincoln working on the Taylorcraft aircraft earlier in the year.

As you can see in the pictures, we finally had a chance to go flying again! My friend and I were so excited as we pre-flighted the airplane, but as we completed our pre-flight, our hearts sank. After months of repairs, it appeared that we still wouldn’t be flying. A steady drip from the fuel tank confirmed that we’d be grounded that day. We taxied the plane over to the hangar and began disassembling the components so we could work on the tank. In my heart, I pleaded with God to work it out so we could fly, but also told Him that whatever He decided would be alright. If I’ve learned anything this year, I’ve learned that God has everything in control and I can trust Him completely. Just before we began to open the wing panel that covered the fuel tank, Mr. Brooks thought about checking a fuel line at the top of the tank. This was much more easily accessible and wouldn’t require us to open up the wing. With just a few minutes of work, Mr. Brooks had the leak fixed. Just a bit of gasket sealer fixed our problem. We were able to fly after all, and I was so thankful for what God had done for us as we soared above the clouds. Aren’t you so glad that our God cares even about the little things?

This summer I plan to stay involved with God’s work. I’ve decided to work with Alaska Summer Camps. This ministry is run, by the Alaska Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists and offers a Christian summer camp experience for kids in Alaska. It’s a great outreach opportunity to spread God’s love to the many non-Christian kids that will attend camp. We plan to travel to a few remote villages also to put on day camps for isolated children. I’m excited and will try to keep you updated over the summer with stories of what God is doing in Alaska. As I said, most of the summer will be spent in remote areas without any cell service, so updates may be sporadic. I’m looking forward to this experience and will also have the opportunity to visit AngelOne headquarters in Alaska since the camp director is developing a mission aviation program (AngelOne is an Adventist mission aviation organization that equips, trains, and supports self-supporting Adventist aviation ministries around the world https://www.angeloneonline.org/).

I’d like to encourage you to continue your financial support through the summer. As you may have noticed, our airplanes were down for annual maintenance for much of the school year. We are working on transitioning to performing our maintenance in the summer, so funds will help keep our planes in working order as well as restore project aircraft. Also, it will give us a good base of funds so we can dive back into gaining more flight hours next year. Thanks for being apart of my support team!

I’ll be back in the aviation program next year and am excited to finish this phase of training. The second semester of next school year is also when I’ll receive my mission assignment for the year after graduation. After that, I plan to continue following Jesus wherever He leads, and spend the rest of my life sharing the gospel with the unreached. This will probably include some higher aviation training before I am fully equipped to launch as a full-time career missionary. Stay tuned for more information about this over the next few years.

Once again, thanks for joining me on this journey of faith this school year. I am eternally grateful for your willingness to support God’s work, as well as your encouragement. I pray that you have an amazing summer. Thanks for continuing to support me with your finances and prayers. As I said, I’ll send you an occasional update over the summer, and I’m thrilled to continue our partnership throughout next school year.

In Service Together,

Micah Grady
